Here’s for you some sweet & simple tips to fall in love with yourself this Valentine’s Day.

There is no one worthy of your love as much as you are. Valentine’s Week is thronged with mixed emotions – some appreciating every bit of it, some drenched in an ocean full of melancholy. But the real question you must ask yourself is – Do you love yourself enough? There might be hundreds of people, with thumping hearts, exclaiming that Valentine’s day is exclusive for couples. Well, that’s not true. Valentine’s Day is about those special relationships you have in life – with others, yes of course; but more importantly, the one you have with yourself! With all your lovelies around you, it also becomes super important to take some time out and shower yourself with care and kindness before you pamper anyone else. TARA Foundation brings you some really sweet and simple tips to make you fall in love with yourself, and relish every little bit of your own being <3

  1. Immerse Yourself into All That You Truly Enjoy

Self-love should never come as a burden. This is something that flows within you, naturally, in little things that you do. There can be love in watering a plant or watching the sunset. It can be something as little as carefully watching an ant carry a piece of grain. Or something as fun as watching your all-time favorite movie. Do what makes you feel alive. Sing, dance, listen to music, paint or read – Pick any hobby and pursue it in ways that makes you feel comfy. Yes, self-love is all about comfort! It tempts you now, doesn’t it?

  1. Unwind. Breathe. Detox.

Wanna know the key super-power to self-love? Well then, here it is! Self-love isn’t always about doing what you like, but mostly about not doing all that you don’t like. Caressing your soul is like soothing a pain. It is like heeling an injured part of yours. You can only caress yourself if you keep yourself away from toxicities and all that stresses you. Yes, that is clearly not an easy job, we all try doing that, don’t we? But it is definitely not impossible, right? Detox. Learn to say no. Relax, push aside over-commitments and look for spaces that make you feel at ease.

  1. A Nature Bath Is All You Need at Times

Nature is tranquil. Falling in love with Nature is almost like a flower-laid trail that takes one towards bliss. Yes, a Nature Bath is all you need at times. The best part about it is that it lets you introspect. Nature allows you to look beyond the four walls of your home or office. It lets you understand how every aspect of life and existence continues and blooms, even when you feel full of misery and dejection. It teaches you the art of appreciating every aspect of your own life. Look at Nature, spend some time in its arms and relax – you’d find a million ways in which those petunias, mist drops and willow trees teach you to love your inner self.

  1. Laugh. Giggle. Smile.

Self-love is about finding out what makes you laugh. WhatsApp jokes, funny Instagram reels, a comic novel, stand-up comedy or an episode of your favorite Comedy Nights show – it could be anything. It can also be catching up with an old friend and laughing at all your crazy inside jokes till you’re holding your hurting stomach! LOL! Laughter makes one feel healthier. A cute, silly giggle would never do you harm. So next time when there is something funny happening around you, don’t hold your laughter people, just laugh out loud!

  1. BeYOUtiful

American actress Zoe Kravitz once quoted “Beauty is when you can appreciate yourself. When you love yourself, that’s when you’re most beautiful.” Indulge in self-care by going for a serene spa, a lovely bubble bath, a face massage or maybe making for yourself some fruity DIY face masks – do all that you can to treat yourself with love. Dress up for yourself. Wear makeup if you like it. Look beautiful for yourself! If you do all that makes you happy, you’ll see for yourself, how you’d emerge as your most beautiful self.

  1. Live Healthy. Live Happy.

There is no way better to love your body and inner self than exercising and meditating. Try to form an exercise routine, eat nutritious food, meditate and calm down all your tensions – follow these and you’d definitely see lovely results. Well, results like – a beautiful smile spread on your face, positivity in your way of looking at the world, a feeling of fulfillment and a healthy gleam in your eyes. Eat healthy. Drink healthy. Stay healthy. These are mantras that will make you feel good and will let you fall in love with yourself even more!

  1. Write Yourself a Piece of Love

Writing for yourself, writing to yourself – it is like therapy. There are days when there is so much in your heart that is oozing out to be expressed but you do not find an ideal listener. Someone who is true to you. Someone who listens with patience. If you have been in a similar position, just know that all you’ve got to do is to make a journal. Yes, a journal or a diary – your new friend! Share with it all that you feel and want to express. Pour your heart out. These words will let you know that whether you feel merry or glum, there is always something you can count on, to make you fall in love with yourself for all that you are!

In most cases, people would always be proclaiming out loud that it is important for you to prioritize your loved ones and give your fullest to make them feel loved. But do think for yourself, what if you lose yourself in the process? In case you’ve been looking for a sign, this is your moment to realize that it is alright to be selfish at times. Be you. Be your own priority. Learn to love yourself in ways that make you feel happy and special. Valentine’s Day is just another day to remind you of the true value of self-love, but this ritual of caressing yourself must go on forever…
